Beach 26
A specific place. A particular light.
Beach 26 is a stretch of coast I keep coming back to. Not because it's dramatic — it isn't, especially — but because it has a quality of light and stillness that I find hard to leave alone. These photographs were made across several visits. The beach doesn't change much. What changes is what you bring to it. This is an ongoing project. It won't finish — it'll just get bigger. Every time I go back I find something I missed, or the light does something it hasn't done before, or someone walks into the frame at exactly the wrong moment and makes it exactly right. I've stopped trying to call it done.
